Ball - Morsy Replacement? 09:48 - Jun 2 with 1236 viewsFrimleyBlue

Obviously it would be great if there was nothing in the Morsy links back to Wigan, BUT if there is, i'd say Ball is the perfect partner but also the perfect replacement if that move was to happen.

Either way it's a quality signing and however the Morsy situation ends up, we have at the very least replaced him already and not in a position of leaving ourselves worse off in a very important position.

With Morsy happily posing for photos with fans at the Suffolk show yesterday, I'd say he is probably happy here so I'm fairly confident he'll be staying.

Think he's happy enough here but at 30 he's at the last big contract stage so might not be entirely against a move if there's a decent offer from somewhere. Obviously Town could offer him an extra year or so but not heard there's anything on the table at present.

Given Morsy was playing the more advanced midfield role, how is Ball, a clear defensive midfielder the perfect replacement?

Surely he's competition for Evans not Morsy?

If Morsy went we would need someone new for the box-to-box role.

Very True SB, an oversight my side. Easy to forget how advanced KM turned Morsy compared to his previous seasons.

Agree with other posts that Morsy plays more advanced now. Ball could replace and more importantly will challenge Morsy for starting position. Every player needs competition and should not be a guaranteed starter. Great signing

You can clear off with your negative energy Phil.

Morsy links will presumably rumble all summer. He will only leave it it works for all parties. Depending on how El Miz, Harper and Celina situs turns out we probably need 1-3 CMs/ACMs anyway to compete over 46 games plus cups.
