For large parts of the game 18:03 - Aug 27 with 1023 views | GeoffSentence | We were as poor as I have seen us play under McKenna. The ten or fifteen minutes leadibg up to our second goal was the wost. Miscontrolled balls, misplaced passes, missed tacl=kles it was dreadful. Nice to round that spell off with a goal though.

For large parts of the game on 18:32 - Aug 27 with 879 views | ArnieM | You do Barnsley a great dis-service frankly. Their game plan to press very high but with great depth to their press meant we were having to work very hard to get of our defending 1/3 let alone half . AND unlike other teams who have pressed us, they maintain it for most of the first half. The difference between the teams today was a very poor ref. He was inconsistent, he was biased. That’s even worse. Yes they did a bit of gamesmanship in the second half to break up our rhythm ( which worked very well for them tbh). But as I said after Bolton gsme it’s up to refs to stop this shytehousery. I feel McKenna made a bad call with the front 3 in the first half. Ladapo is just on it in teens if closing down and he can’t but a goal atm poor sod. The changes of Jackson snd Harness saw far more movement and pace across the front 3 and goal came from it. Overall ( without the refs assistance to them), we’d have run out 3-1 winners. He gave them their first goal. It was a Gould that led to their free kick ( not given to us but he gave handball to them). Then he ruled out a perfectly legitimate goal which would have made it 3-1…. Next minute they’ve equalised. So there you gave . The ref was a massive influence in the outcome today. But Barnsley are I think a very team just finding their league one feet. They’ll be in that top 6 at the end of the season I feel.

Barnsley did contribute to our lack of quality at times, but we were also our own biggest problem much of the time. Some of our passing was shocking, even when not unedr pressure, likewise yjere were times where our ball control let us dowm, when you'd expect it to be taken comfortably.

Basically for every team is this league a point at Ipswich is going to be a great result, we need to be hyper aware of this and press early. If we let teams into the last third of the game level this stuff will only continue, if not get worse. [Post edited 27 Aug 2022 18:46]

I think we are guilty of over playing it sometimes. A couple of times today even Walton with his feet and then second half, that throw out to the RB when they weren’t on the same page. They can easily lead to goals, why risk it at this level? We need to be able to play down to league one sides when needed, if that makes sense. [Post edited 27 Aug 2022 18:47]

No sh*t sherlock. Point still stands....if that's the 'worst' under KM...not a huge amount to worry about. We have a much higher bar now.
