Phil Ham, TWTD and professionalism 07:45 - Sep 6 with 3340 viewsGlasgowBlue

Wasn’t it great to hear Mark Ashton include Phil and this site in thanking the local press for not running speculative stories about transfers in the summer. Ashton thanked them all for their professionalism.

What a contrast from the last mob who not only kicked a Phil out of press conferences but dismissed TWTD as just a fanzine who should be grateful to be given any crumbs from the table.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Indeed. Although we lot disagree on much, we can surely agree on this. The last administration made a number of poor decisions, and failed to make other decisions which the club was crying out for. However, the very oddest decision was deciding to alienate an achingly balanced and fair TWTD and in doing so p*** off a very considerable number of (maybe less balanced) vocal fans who generally care about the club, and who have been around for years and will be for many years to come.

And that's the case even if Phil did a bang average job. Without wishing to start too much of a love in, we are very lucky with the job that's been done and is still being done on this site. How you can be at the front of the queue for breaking a story in this day and age of 24 hour twitterati coverage and still maintain very high editorial standards (and admirable "one of us-ness") is beyond me. We're very lucky, and Ashton is showing common sense in acknowledging that. Open goal for Ashton, own goal for the previous lot.

That's not very kind of you, Keno, suggesting this place would be better without him.
