Take my money now on 20:42 - Sep 7 with 1223 views | Whos_blue | It's beautiful set for sure, but just too much for me. The reissue series are hard to keep up with. It doesn't seem that long ago that I updated my last version of Revolver. I suspect my will will break and I'll pick up the new version when it comes out!

Being a Beatles nerd I can tell you that all the albums were first released on CD in 1988. The mixes were pretty bad. They then re released re masters and mono versions of the entire catalogue in 2009 as a box set or individually. Since 2017 they have been releasing super deluxe editions with a new Giles Martin restoration, demos and outtakes on the 50th anniversary of the albums release. So we started with Pepper, The White Album, Abbey Road and Let it Be (although that was a year late because of Covid). Revolver obviously breaks that pattern as they are now going backwards. I suspect we’ll get Rubber Soul next year. Every Super Deluxe Edition has been well worth the money. Especially The White Album.

Yeah. A huge fan myself. I updated all my albums with the 189g versions over the reissue programme. I took the opportunity to get the Pepper double LP. I did take the plunge with the Abbey Road box set. Impecable. I just can't justify the high price of the white album, even though the Esher demos were well worth a listen. The 3 anthology albums carry several of the outtakes from across their career. The first take of Tomorrow was jaw dropping the first time I heard it and the laughing version of Bird is just a joy. I tried 4 versions of LIB, but just couldn't find a good pressing. Really disappointed with distortion on a couple of tracks. I will probably get the single LP of revolver.

The only disappointment with the re issues is that we haven’t had the Giles Martin treatment to the non album singles that were recorded around the same time. Just demos. H Jude and Revolution would have been very welcome on the White Album Super Edition. Looks like they are doing so with Paperback Writer and Rain fir Revolver though.

Yes. 4 track EP with both stereo and mono versions. I don't want to have a downer on Submarine, but if Rain replaced that........... wow. What an album. To think it came out the same year they played their lacklustre set to teeny boppers at Candlestick park just never ceases to amaze me. Love me do to Abbey Road in a little 7 years is just beyond ridiculous. The Who are my favourite band, but there are none better than The Beatles. Not even The Smiths! Or the Fall!!!

I only have Abbey Road as picked it up incredibly cheaply from Amazon (£13....!!!) - they are lovely but I never really listen to the new mixes bar streaming
