Camara. Odd signing? 18:51 - Nov 4 with 2622 viewsFromReuserWithLove

I know he was very effective for Plymouth last season but the fact we signed someone on deadline day who will miss half a season seems strange. Hope he turns out to be a huge asset when fit but didn't think we'd sign anyone with such a long term injury..... hopefully not a recurring one.

From what I have seen so far I think he will be a great signing, looks like he has a defence splitting pass in him, might be wrong but I was impressed with a rusty, half fit player and look forward to watching him next year when he will no doubt make a big difference.

Or we took the opportunity to sign a player who we would have gone to the Championship if fit.

Sometimes you have to take a gamble.

If we can get him fit and firing, we have a championship ready player acquired at a knock-down price.

Also if we hadn't got him in August, he'd be strengthening our promotion rivals come January - and he'd be out of our price range or they wouldnt sell him to us.

And lets face it - if he doesnt come good this season, he's only 25 so keeps some value.

No qualms from me.

He’s a fantastic player. I was amazed when we got him tbh and can’t wait to see him settled into the side.

That's fair enough from you all. TBF, I don't know an awful about him so genuinely excited to see him when in full flight.

I don't think they realised how injured he was when they signed him. I read somewhere that he trained for a week and then went for surgery. Or something along those lines.

Sure I glanced over an EADT comment about him being the equivalent of 2 players on the pitch, or something 🤔

And such a big loss for Plymouth too

The most perplexing part of signing an injured player of dodgy moral provenance in the best part of your tezm is who is he supposed to replace.

I don't think he replaces anyone. We don't have a Camara type player right now, so he is another option available.

Quite how we will use him is a valid question, he does not appear to fit naturally into the system, as his USP seems to be runs from box to box.

Maybe we would use him in certain games, or bring him on after 60 to offer us something different, it is not clear.

I think you might be disappointed with his passing range /ability....his game is all about running.

He consistently rune 13K plus in games, and breaks up play well.

Passing is not his strongest suit , nor is shooting although he scored a few so it isn't awful.

If his passing matched his running and tackling he wouldn't be anywhere near Argyle , or Ipswich for that matter.

Plays with a smile on his face as well....lovely character.

I hope he does really well for you but prepare to be frustrated at times.

In the Pompey game we ended up bringing Ball on for Chaplin and Morsy then moved to a 'roving chase down the opposition role' where he didn't need to hold a defined position too much. I could see us using him like that in some games and not necessarily just as a sub.
