In fairness he backtracked straight away.
Yeah he has a terrible habit of driving his foot as far into his mouth as possible (see also interrupting the silence in the Bracknell game), but he is usually self-aware enough to instantly walk it back. Bit of a plonker, not a favourite commentator of mine, but having heard a fair bit of him on TalkSport, he seems like a pretty decent bloke, annoying or not!

Well sure, nothing personal cos I don't know him but he's a simply awful commentator.

Indeed, having said, I can't think of many modern commentators I actually enjoy listening to. All downhill since Motty hung up the mic. Although I always like to hear Peter Drury's voice, can't think why...

Ian Darke commentating for Fox world cup over here. He's British and I always enjoy his input. Paired with Landon Donovan for the England game.

I'm a sucker for his passionate bewilderment, he was a master of the upward inflection!
I think Drury still does the odd PL game for Amazon and BT when there are a load of fixtures, but I don't hear much of him aside from that. Got a feeling he does a lot of work in the States

Interesting how we all see it differently. He does a lot of work for BT over here and I'm not particularly keen, although in fairness, he's usually paired with a wally of a co-commentator so it's not all his fault!
