We need to find a way of improving our home form ,yes maybe I am being Mr. Obvious but it's worrying me that our lack of a cutting edge when teams sit back.We have slightly improved our goals from set pieces but not by enough. For me unless we find a way of winning more home games it's going to cost us .

Breaking down 11 fit, organised men who set out to defend deep is hard, what we need to do is stop giving these teams poor goals which gives them something extra to hang on to. Keep the clean sheet, and we will more often than not find enough chances to get a goal

Had two messages post match. One from a Plymouth fan “Guess we wanted it more than you did”
The other from a Portsmouth fan “Plucky blues stun Portman Road faithful” a dig at the attendance figure but accurate. They accepted gifts offered.

Apart from Humphries think the Plymouth comment hits the nail on the head. If you are fully committed to going further in a competition you don’t make as many sloppy errors as our defence did.

Plymouth on the other hand pushed on, after going behind, to win 3-2.

Don’t think McKenna wanted us to progress, think we had one shot on target last night and did not trouble the Pompey goalkeeper. What frustrated me last night the continuous need to pass the ball wide and not take a shot from long range. This has been our downfall all season, interested to know the number of goals we have scored from long distance this season.
If McKenna did not want to progress we should have succumbed in the earlier league rather then turn out on a wasted Pizza Cup evening……

I was talking more in general than just last night , we struggle at home against teams happy to just defend and now that other sides have seen this more will follow so for me we just have to find a way of winning some of these games . On a bright note our away form, when sides sort of have to go forward at least a little more is great . Of course you are right giving silly goals away does not help .
