Burns / Ahadme 11:24 - Dec 2 with 1609 viewsFrimleyBlue

Just having a think about tonight game and with the potential of Ahadme starting again.. do you think we will see more of the Burns hugging the touchline more than in previous league games.

Watching the game on Sunday, I don't think we've ever seen Burns keep so tight to the touchline or even getting in as many crosses as he did ( some good some bad).

Do you think this was just a natural occurance due to Buxton giving Burns space and offering the chance to cross or do you think its something we may see purposely when Ahadme is in the lineup....

Burns kept receiving the ball, because he was pretty much completely unmarked for the entirety of the first half, he had so much space I was worried he'd tire himself out by half time. Tonight, back to league and business as usual.

Ahadme looked far from prolific with his head, so I doubt he will be singled out tonight for his aerial ability. Despite Burns flashing across what seemed like 1000's of crosses, I can't recall a man attacking the near post on any occasion during the match, which was something I hope was picked up on and worked at in training over the last week, because there should always be somebody attacking that channel and we'd probably have scored 3 or 4 more goals against Buxton.

He had 8 headed shots at goal over the 90 minutes, which is a lot. Scored one, hit the post, had one flash past the post. Buxton were no standard at all, but he did the job he was supposed to against them.

I expected nothing from him going into the game and honestly, I still know very little about him after that game, against a weak Buxton side. He looked rusty, as you'd expect from somebody who has had about 30 minutes game time with us to date and it's impossible to know what he brings to the table yet. Realistically, I don't suspect we will see anything of his natural self for another 4 or 5 games (provided he is getting good minutes under his belt) such is the pain in the backside of medium term injuries.

Burns did whip in some absolutely gorgeous swinging crosses at pace in that game. With a cross like that it's more about the striker being in the right place rather than having to out-muscle a defender for position, so we could see quite a few goals from those crosses from various players if Wes can keep em up. Warky would get dozens. In one game.

I think Ladapo will come in for Ahadme tonight, but wouldn't be surprised to see Gas off the bench. I'll go for the lopsided 4-3-2-1 / 3-4-2-1 / 4-2-2-1-1 / 4-2-3-1
