Apparently Bannon and his acolytes have been heavily involved in encouraging this. Not that Bolsonaro's supported necessarily needed much encouragement.
They're being rounded up and even Bolsonaro has (perhaps somewhat tardily) condemned the violence. The army has not joined in. Looks to be no more effective than Jan 6th 2021 was.
