Burnley away 23:55 - Jan 24 with 2028 viewsClockworkClaret

Evening, good result tonight, congratulations. Burnley fan in peace here. Looking forward to the weekend and first time visit to Ipswich. Should be a good game, our form is red hot at the moment but expect us to make some changes forced or otherwise.

I was looking for some advice if anyone could help. I'm talking my young one to her first game on Saturday. Looking for a (kid) friendly pub or club we can grab some food before the game. Any recommendations around town or would you not advise..? Thanks in advance.

The Greyhound on 9 Henley Road - very much a Town pub, but very friendly and occasional small groups of away fans visit there and are treated well - great food and drink, and if you have time cut through Christchurch Park from town centre up via the arboretum to the pub, it's a gorgeous park.

You’ll be fine in the town centre, generally a friendly bunch and certainly no beef with Burnley that would suggest otherwise. Some pubs are more typical home pubs like The Greyhound, Lord Nelson, Curve, Isaacs where you might not get in in claret colours, but equally you probably wouldn’t want to given they can get quite busy.

I would say head in to the town centre, 10-15 minutes walk from the ground. Christchurch Park is nice, worth a visit if you’ve got time, you could also go to the waterfront (again 10-15 minutes walk from the ground) which is a nice spot on the marina. The Forge Kitchen is a BBQ place near there if that’s your thing. There’s a couple of decent places for food down on the waterfront, the waterfront Bistro was decent last time I went. There’s the Buttermarket in town, was once a shopping centre but now more restaurants etc. the usual suspects like Wagamama, Revs, Prezzo, Byron etc. But also some decent non chain places. Might serve you well.

Enjoy your visit & safe travels.

Living in Canada now, but this would be my recommendation. Away fans are treated well in most places, so long as you're not spoiling for trouble, which demonstrably you are not. Hope you and your kid have a good time. Sounds like you are playing good football, so should be a nice game.

There are some fair suggestions mentioned above but if you want a guaranteed seat and a bit of space you could also try Vodka Rev.
