By your reckoning if a murderer changes his mind and subsequently thinks murdering someone was wrong, thats OK.

Rod Stewart sent congratulations to the bloater, Celtic fans objected. That happened irrespectibve of what Rod Stewards says now.

And as far as I am concerned it's taken him a long while, and an awful lot of Tory corruption and incompetence before he spoke out.
