Thought the ref was decent today 20:04 - Jan 28 with 1512 viewsIllinoisblue

Let the game flow and wasn’t overly fussy. The yellow for Harness was a tad harsh but you can see why he gave it.

I think he gave the Harness yellow as much for the player's reaction as anything and was concerned. However, he soon wised up to Burnley's tactics when the player got straight up and refused treatment and from there on he didn't give things simply because of the player reaction. I may have been being harsh on the Harness one and he was much closer to see whether it was simply a fraction late or something worse.

I did find him warming up in amongst the Town players doing their warm up odd.

Should have sent off Beyer in the first half though which I’d say was a pretty big mistake

Should he? What incident was that? No one seemed to make a big deal of it that I can recall.

Would have been 2nd yellow on Hirst but he let advantage go

Think that would have been a harsh. He and Jackson just got in a tangle. If we’d had a player sent off for that we’d be foomin

Ah, fair enough. Didn't realise he had already been booked. Did think it should have been a booking and was surprised the ref didn't go back for it.

It’s a yellow all day long in isolation. Took him out off the ball to stop the break. Burnley forum was saying it was very lucky he stayed on anyway. Oh well, we played well today.

Absolutely a yellow. Completely taken out as we broke. The referee signalled advantage, indicating that he had seen it and considered it a foul. Not even a talking to and final warning.

Very harsh on Morsy I thought. Especially after bottling the 2nd yellow for the Jackson foul.

I disagree. He made it very clear Morsy's was for persistent fouling. He had committed plenty, albeit their players asking for a card for him after every one probably contributed to the ref noticing.

Ref indicated three fouls. Would be a lot of yellows if that is all it takes.

The pointing is to indicate persistent fouling.

How many constitutes persistent in the rules is not specified. However, I would imagine every time there is a foul that the referee thinks "oh, that's not quite a booking but it was a little late/strong/etc" contributes more than a minor grapple.
