One of the more ridiculous transfers of the window.

What in effect is the difference between this and simply leaving on a free transfer? Did it happen outside the transfer window (i.e. today, not yesterday). If so, does this mean that hypothetically Town could release KVY from his contract and he could sign for someone else? And if so, does that someone else have to be abroad?

(edit p.s.) KVY is not a good example, because Town would probably want a fee for him - I'm really talking about anyone who a club is happy to let go on a free.)

No real difference between that and a free transfer - but if you are released before the window shuts then you can sign after that point so frees up the pressure.

If Ipswich were to release KVY now, he wouldn't be able to sign elsewhere

Not too ridiculous for Jorge Mendes. He is both Matt Doherty and Pedro Porro's agent. A man who has his finger in many a ( lucrative ) transfer pie.

Doherty was released instead of loaned out because Spurs had reached their loan out limit

You mean they're expecting him to come back?
