Not for the first time, McKenna's substitutions seemed to disrupt Town 17:05 - Feb 11 with 934 viewsRadlett_blue

rather than the opposition & we lost our momentum & Wednesday looked more likely than us to land a late winner.
We also now never seem to play the same defence 2 games running & that can't be helpful & may have contributed to a shakey first half in which we could easily have gone 3-0 down.

They were subs that were needed to be made. Wednesday attacked for about 5 minutes in the second half and Ladapo had the best of the late chances.

They were good subs to make and at the right times but none of them ahead an affect on the game at all.

That’s a bit of a stretch.

The game was at a high tempo, the subs slowed the tempo but Hirst was dead on his feet and Chaplin was starting to look ragged.

I was listening on to Radio Suffolk - didn’t sound to me like we needed to make subs at that point, we were still very much in the ascendency. I assume that KM made them with the intention of ensuring momentum continued as it was, rather than trying to pick it up after we’d dropped a bit. In which case they were a positive move.

Didn’t really sound as though it worked though as we gradually did what we tend to do - go into our shell and invite pressure for the last sedition of the game. Such a shame that we cannot (do not) keep our foot on the gas for a whole game)

Not sure - Burns and Broadhead had to go off because of tiredness and injury, and I could understand Aluko coming on (for Chaplin, rather than waiting for Broadhead) to be injured, but I did not get Ladapo for Hirst. Ladapo rarely performs as a sub and we didn't seem as sharp after then.
