Totally off topic but genuinely interested ... that phrase Illy “ you love to see it “ I’ve seen it a bit or heard it a lot in the last months but don’t recall it before creeping into general usage, now i thought it was just a UK thing but i know you’re not over there... is it in Americaland too ?

It’d be interesting to know how and when the phrase was first used. I assume it’s just a footy banter phrase but maybe it’s gained wider usage. I’ve certainly not seen or heard it used over here, not that I peruse American sports fan sites. Maybe there’s an equivalent Bears-focused site. They’ve been largely rubbish since the 1980s so they can equally despair “those were the days”

Cheers mate,I certainly haven't used it for obvious reasons here, but have nearly on English,English websites as it appears to have become part of everyday use .. as a cheeky nandos or bantz did...not sure if they are still in use.
It is interesting watching changes in culture , for example the other day I caught on youtube some UK celeb talent type reality show ... i didn't know any....well one from eastenders about 25 years ago but had left it 20 or so I think. Also I'm noticing the old guard of presenters have changed to people I've never seen but presume were sports or reality stars...and all over a relatively short period of years.

I always thought it was a general widely-used phrase that Keegan popularised within football culture.

Keegan was just “love it”, wasn’t he?

"I will love it!" I believe.

Is that much different from "you would love to see it"?
