We obviously need a few additions 09:43 - May 1 with 1762 viewstractorboy1978

But I really hope we trust in the bulk of this squad to go again next year and get us competing for the top 6. We seem to have a wonderful team spirit and there is no shortage of potential improvement in this group. We clearly have the finance and backing to invest again but hopefully we don't get drawn into too much change.

First thing on the agenda should be new contracts for several members of this current squad - Chaplin, Walton, Morsy in particular as they are getting close to the end of deals I believe. And of course, McKenna deserves a new, improved deal too.

Who would you let go? Can't think of many, possibly Harness, think we've seen how much of an upgrade Broadhead is and it'll be another level obviously..

Be surprised if we changed all that much for the core first 11, I would think Evans, Harness, KVY, Aluko and Keogh will probably be moved on or into coaching roles.

Would think the 4-5 brought in will provide very stiff competition

The only Muff in Town.

Think you've got the obvious ones like Penney, Ahadme, Harper, Pigott, KVY, Keogh (into coaching), Aluko.

Then it is probably Harness, Jackson, Evans as the next 3 where there could have to be a difficult conversation.

I think we need 2 centre forwards (Hirst and one other?) If we get Hirst and he breaks down after 3 games, would we want to rely on Ladapo in the Champ? As good as he's been, I think he'll be a back-up in the second tier.

Left-footed competition for Burgess. Luongo or one other centre mid. Potentially some competition for Burns if Jackson moves on. Maybe, if we're being utterly ruthless, competition for Chaplin in that #10 area too.

I have a feeling we will add a keeper into the mix as well

Don't think Fred would be such a write off in the Championship. Last time he was there with Rotherham, he scored 9 times from 23 starts and 19 sub appearances. Nothing spectacular, but not out-of-his-depth numbers. Also think he's a better player than he was when he joined us.

I can't see space for Evans or Jackson, probably not KVY as he's not been the player we saw when we first signed him.

Keogh should move onto the coaching staff, imagine Aluko still has playing in him in league one if he wants to.

Need to sign Luongo of course, plus a striker or two.

25 squad limit. Doesn't include Humphries due to age. Assuming loanees don't come back, except maybe El Mis, we keep hold of Hurst but not T J-J, and we have 3 goalies, there's only room for about 1 more. (Even if Keogh, Saluko move into coaching). Sadly I think K V-Y might be first out as contract is up.

...and in a better, more productive side.
