It's less likely but you may see something if you look towards the north, maybe over the Wetlands. It's surprising what can be seen even with light pollution (I took my avatar a few days ago from central London).
As you say though, it'll be clearer and more likely to be seen in the sticks.

Can't tell without know when the event happened on the Sun. However they should know this as the matter travels much slower than the light so perhaps best to keep an eye on their Twitter channel.

Well worth putting the effort in to see them if you haven't before. I spent a bit of time in Iceland (not the shop!) when I was a younger and they were one of the highlights of any trip. There are many highlights to Iceland though - I thoroughly recommended if you like the outdoors. |  |
