Part of the reason for feeling so bad is that you have no control over the outcome (other than vocal support, if you're at the game).
The players, on the other hand, are the ones with the result (collectively) in their hands. They can, to an extent, control how this turns out. All do their jobs well and we are likely to win. Also, they have preparation to think about, tactics to memorise. Besides which, they've been doing this since a very early age. Mental habits as well as muscle memory. |  |

We as fans are far more invested in the history, the hopes and the dreams of ITFC, than any of the staff. This is OUR club and we have just suffered the worst period in it's history. This team and the management, although amazing, are temporary. The fans are for life. |  |
