I think it still does hold 10,000+, at capacity. (The record attendance was against Norwich, soon after it opened.) If there has been a very minor reduction, I think it's only to allow more/better access for wheelchairs.
The highest attendance recently was 8,700 or so, - for England U20 v Germany in March last year. It wasn't quite full, judging by Youtube clips. | | | |

Spending ages queuing to get off the A12 and then back on it again after does not sound such a good night.
It was chaos when we played them in the Pizza Cup a few years ago with a third as many Town fans going. Next Monday is going to be a nightmare.
