Leeds v Cardiff Ref. 16:38 - Aug 6 with 569 viewsWickets

We do a lot of moaning about refs as footie fans but thought the one in the above game today was very very good . Leeds players threw themselves to the ground in the penalty box numerous time with the home fans shrieking for a penalty he stood firm and rightly so .

Should have booked Leeds players for cheating a lot more, but that aside I agree. He was great when many refs would have been bullied by the crowd.

He did well to not give penalties for the incessant Leeds cheating in the box

Give refs the power to flag things for post match review. Particualrly diving incidents.

I understand their reluctance to card people for things that could be genuine stumbles, or slight contact etc. Hard to be certain that itw as a deliberate piece of cheating. But lets have a blue card which simply means "no foul, no card for diving, but I will review afterwards and issue retrospective yellow if I deem it a clear dive".

Shouldn't even need the referee to make any reference to it during the match. The fourth official should make a note (and the ref could tell them to if they wish as well). Then footage of each incident can be reviewed and a points system similar to that from yellow cards (or in conjunction with it) leads to a ban. At the moment all that happens is certain players get a reputation for it and are less likely to have the decision go for them.
