Not in the list of registered U21 players. Assume he has gone?

Contract was up at the end of the season. He didn't sign the deal which was offered, so he's not our player any more. We'll get compensation when he joins another club.

You do wonder if some of these players are being let down by whoever advises them (most likely agents I’d imagine). The kid’s barely played any senior football but seems to think he was too good for us. You’d have thought he’d be much better off re-signing, working hard and trying to develop/impress. Football’s a harsh mistress. Many youngsters who don’t want to fall by the wayside. It seems a bit daft to increase the chances of that happening to yourself. But what do I know; maybe there’s a queue of Champions League clubs all fighting over him as we speak.

This Tuanzebe bloke feels a bit similar. Imagine turning down a PL opportunity when you’ve played little football in the last 8 years. These people are crackers.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

How can you comment unless you know what was offered? A pay as you play deal at Luton wouldn't be very appealing for example.

I’d argue that the opportunity to play in the PL would be very attractive. Likely to get a lot of game time with a small team like Luton, so lots of chance to put yourself in the shop window at that level. Do even reasonably well and you’ve got the next PL contract almost guaranteed if/when Luton get relegated.

I won’t argue if it turns out he can get fit and ends up with us, but it does seem strange to reject a PL offer.

If you were a player with a poor injury record, would you take a 1 year pay as you play deal at Luton or a 2/3 year deal with a guaranteed wage at a Championship club though?

I’d take the gamble and sign for Luton - hope that with a good medical team and that a relatively young body will be able to get through a PL season. And, if I had a few good games then hopefully another PL will come in for me next season.

Thought we have given him a 1 year deal and we have the option of a second year.

Fact he's signed that just highlights what he actually had on offer at Luton!

Totally bizarre surely not to re sign, is he really getting a better offer elsewhere ?

The only Muff in Town.
Poll: Lamberts rotational policy has left us....

If he had the whole summer and is still a free agent it isn’t a good sign
