Tightening up at the back 15:45 - Dec 16 with 555 viewsCheltenham_Blue

What do we do and how do we do it? The 'We'll score one more than you way is amazing, but, we always offer the other side a goal, and when you are wasteful with your chances as we were in the first half, you'll always give them a way back in.

Burgess has been immense, Wolfie is Town through and through, Davis is a fantastic player, but pushes so high in this tactic.

Without fundamentally changing the way we play I'm not sure we can keep many clean sheets.

I don't think we really need to.

That game, in isolation, all we needed to do was convert 1 or 2 of those guilt edge chances.

Individually I like all of our defenders but, as a unit, they do not work defensively. In fairness, it is a League One back line so it should be expected.

I do think there is a lack of protection from the forward players as well. For their second, Broadhead completely lost Rowe, when he was with him at the point of the throw.

Sometimes the midfield leaves the defence exposed, but that is down to your final paragraph - the way we play is the issue when it comes to defending.

You've got to remember...its always trade offs.

Again, we create so many chances and are so good at opening teams up. If we become a touch more solid, we'll lose some of that free flowing attacking bite.

I'm perfectly happy as we are.

Another day...that would have been a destruction derby.

We don't need to change anything tactically... This way, has seen us promoted and got us into top 2 Championship, well clear of 3rd. And smashing club records on route... For me, its just "moments" that let any team down.. Moments at both ends, today. Its just a concentration thing. Not a tactical thing, imo.. We're allowed an off day now and then. We usually bounce straight back with a cleaner performance. The effort is always on show..

My concern would be if we got in the Prem .We are as good as anyone in this league but Premier teams don't miss so many chances. It's up to us to devise a way where when fullbacks tank forward that we cover the space in behind them but at the same time have enough people in the oppositions box to convert crosses. Hladky has been excellent since getting back in, but that's two or three mistakes in a couple of games. No doubt he's the best for the style we play, but he can't keep making errors.
