Bowen has 16 goals and 6 assists in 34 prem matches. I think he's earned his spot.

He’s had a great season and I do rate him, but with the traffic ahead of him I can’t see him kicking a ball tbh, unless there’s nothing on the game. I’m asking myself who would likely be most useful in the squad over the (hopefully) 7 games and scenarios arising. We’ve got Eze, Palmer, Saka & Gordon who are of a similar profile to Bowen. Going in to a tournament like this I think there’s more value in Grealish’s big game experience and ability to come on and look after the ball, win set pieces etc.

I'm glad Bowen made the cut. He has deserved it for the season he has had. Grealish has been poor as a whole, so doesn't deserve it.

Trippier has had a rough season but guess shortage of options gets him on the plane. Toney I’ve read is there in case of penalty shootout… which seems crazy but actually makes a lot of sense given our repeated failures in those situations.

I think the element of Grealish's game is exagerrated, and sometimes he just slows down attacks.

Jack Grealish is Right Footed, so Saka, Bellingham, Foden, Eze, Bowen, Gordon or Palmer can play the same role.

Potential for a whoosh here but how on earth is that front line missing pace? Foden, Saka, Gordon all up there as some of the quickest players in the EPL last season. Foden even quicker than Walker in the champions league

I’m not so interested in their preferred foot, it’ll largely be Foden on the left and Saka right with Bellingham between them I think, certainly at the knockout stage if we progress to it. With Gordon & Eze primarily left sided competition, and Palmer & Bowen right. Palmer could also play centrally if Bellingham was rotated. I think there’s enough pace, athleticism & cover in that group that one of them could’ve made way for Grealish who I think brings some unique attributes. I just think in terms of game management and the scenarios likely to play out after the group stage where he’s proved effective in the past, would’ve been a nice option on the bench IMO. It’s a good problem to have though, we’ve got so much quality in the final 3rd to choose from.

I don't think Foden should be considered 3rd choice No10 behind Bellingham and Palmer.

Can’t see him playing there, Bellingham is the first (actually probably 2nd after Kane) name on the team sheet and rightly so right now. But you simply have to play Foden, so he’ll start on the left Shirley?

He might start on the left, but he's just as good at No10 as Bellingham so its a close call. Bellingham might play further back. Foden definitely ahead of Palmer at No10 if needed.

Our strongest X1 has just as good a chance as anyone. Arguably, our front 4 is the best in world football. Rice is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and Walker and Shaw are two of the best in their positions. CB's probably our weakest area, but not so bad as to effect us to badly. Gareth isn't as daft as some think. Whilst I would agree that some of his tactics, substitutions have baffled sometimes, his record is one of the best of any England manager. I truly believe this squad is one of the strongest we have assembled going into a tournament and I expect us to go very deep into it and wish a small slice of luck, we can win the thing.

You’re saying the manager is tactically inept but also that the defence is a shambles and the midfield is average. Surely no manager in the world could win it then with a defence and midfield so poor?
