Having watched Sarmiento 90+7 a mere 500 times 13:07 - Jun 5 with 2332 views | Illinoisblue | I’ve only ever been focused on the limbs. And not paid to attention to the incredibly poor defending by Southampton. I know they were down a man and were having to adjust, but still. The guy (was it Downes?) coming to close down Davis does not get anywhere near him, never really commits. And the two defenders either side of Sarmiento literally stand still and watch him stumble and poke. I’m sure they didn’t want to risk giving a penalty away, but you’d be mad if you saw that feeble effort in a kids game. Anyway, back to the limbs.

It didn't help that Sarmiento very quickly adjusts and moves the ball away from one but it was then too late for the other guy to react.

Having watched Sarmiento 90+7 a mere 500 times on 13:10 - Jun 5 with 2243 views | davblue | i thought Sarmiento's ingenuity to do what he did was brilliant, not sure you could blame that on bad defending, maybe the phase before that.

I love the little touch with his left foot before the right footed prod finish.

Don’t get me wrong, the improvisation for the finish was top tier stuff.

Having watched Sarmiento 90+7 a mere 500 times on 13:36 - Jun 5 with 1994 views | Steve_M | When I watched it yesterday (about 15 times) I watched JS's run as he arrives in the box, he holds it to create the angle for the pass, I think part of the reason Southampton were a mess is that we had so many players forward at that point. Plus they looked dead on their feet in the last 10 minutes let alone the injury time.

I thought they were shouting “go out to him”. Either way, glad he didn’t!
