| back up 10 15:23 - Aug 27 with 1627 views | bluesbrothers | All the talk is who we bring in or move on in terms of LW and RW... but if we lose Enciso, we don't have another 10? Surely that's a priority area in the loan market [Post edited 27 Aug 15:23]

| back up 10 on 15:37 - Aug 27 with 1503 views | Kropotkin123 | As much as it feels like a revolution, it is an evolution. We can't have like for like in each position. Enciso to Clarke is perfectly reasonable for us to have as a back up. | |

Quite. | |

| back up 10 on 15:41 - Aug 27 with 1439 views | bluelady | i think a number of our players could work at 10 if called upon, Wally has looked much better there than on the wing, Nunez can play 10 if needed (and i cant see him starting in centre with the calibre we have there) Jack Clarke can..... would be a lovely to have but by no means essential . | | | |

100% Nwaneri is the one. Very good at RW and 10. Would be surprised if we aren't interested / have enquired at least

They won't be letting Nwaneri go anywhere just to be a back up. Most probably will go to Leipzig.

He wouldn't be back up though. He would probably relegate Fatawu to back up. Any player good enough to be going into RB Leipzig as a starter is going to be a starter here!

The same Clarke who has never really played 10 (at least successfully) for us?

If we want to stay up none of Egeli, Clarke, or JP can be playing there for more than a few minutes. As I say, and Enciso injury leading to that would be disasterous. Nunez can albeit not ideal in the PL

Yeah, this is the thing. We've tried Jack many times as the central 10 and it just doesn't work. He doesn't have the dynamism for it. He's much better coming in from the touchline. Personally, Sindre is our best back-up to Enciso right now. While I'm happy with that, if we can use our final PL loan to increase our options with Nwaneri or a similar profile that'd be great IMO.
| back up 10 on 16:31 - Aug 27 with 1041 views | Klassic_Ben | How about Flemming who were recently linked with? Apparently he can play in the 10 as well as a cf, so would give us options in both positions. | | | |

He's not coming here/we're not paying the money to be back up ST and back up 10

Then he wouldn't be a back up 10.
| back up 10 on 16:56 - Aug 27 with 905 views | GlasgowBlue | Maeda can play as a 10 and will press as intensely as Enciso. Then slot Clarke on the left. | |

| back up 10 on 17:03 - Aug 27 with 831 views | Bellevue_Blue | As others have said, so many options. You can just play 5-2-2-1 with two wide tens, and just about all of them would be able to play those roles. You maybe don't have the creativity but it's not the end of the world. You could also play Palacios as more of an attacking 8/ deep 10. We are going to be adaptable as GON said so we wont need 3 10's. | | | |

We don't play quite the same way though either. The 10 needs to have legs to run with the ball and Clarke does have that in his locker.

Dunno how reliable it is but FotMob have his valuation at 11m which to me would be worth it, though I admit to not being an expert. Though must admit I did forget that Maeda can play as a 10 as well.
| back up 10 on 20:36 - Aug 27 with 392 views | Swansea_Blue | There a few positions where it would be nice to improve strength in depth, but priority has to be RB imo. It’s nuts that we’re playing O’Shea there. We need a dynamic and ideally rapid PL quality right back. We probably need another upgrade at CB as importantly as an upgrade in 10 depth. And the right wing is a bit light too quality wise. It’s unlikely we’ll cover all those off this window, but that’s what we should be looking at to address weaknesses (relative to our strengths in midfield). | |

Think O’Shea will be at cb against united with either Furlong or maybe Ouattara at rb to give us some extra pace - do agree that I’d like to see another cb signed though.
