Cameron Archer... on 15:58 - Jul 11 with 1834 views | ParisBlue | Was always the case as I understand it. Sheffield Utd bought for £18m with villa having an obligation to buy for £14m if they (Sheffield United) were relegated. So a £4m loan fee.

Cameron Archer... on 17:04 - Jul 11 with 1192 views | Asa | Presumably they had an option not an obligation? Would seem odd to make it obligatory from Villa's perspective. In which case they are running around trying to comply with PSR and have dropped £14m on Archer, a player who doesn't improve their first eleven or arguably even bench options, which makes it very unlikely they are also wanting to drop another £14m or so (even with the discount) on Philogene, another player who doesn't make them immediately stronger. If this was a few days from now would say this bodes well for us, but also that they haven't just decided to buy Archer today so this would have been going on alongside matching the Philogene fee.
