Nanasi 11:09 - Jul 2 with 1738 views | StockholmBlue | One player I would love if we looked at is Sebastian Nanasi from Malmö FF. He is about to leave Malmö now in the summer and there is no place I rather see him then with us. Lots of big clubs in Europe are looking at him, but for some reason (maybe his age, 22 yrs) is what is stopping the big clubs? Anyway he is a creative leftwing or number 10, scores goals as well as assists. Best player in top swedish league last year and has started (our leauge starts in april) this year very very strongly. Been called up for the national team. Expected price 8-12 million euros.

If he is even nearly as good as Forsberg was then he is a very good player.

Yes, there are soo many similarities between them, both has come through Malmö FF, the way they look, but more then anything their attributes on the pitch. If anything Nanasi scores more goals. [Post edited 2 Jul 2024 11:24]

Malmo are amazingly good at identifying young players, loaning them out for a year, giving them half a season in the first team and then selling them for a LOT of money.

Well, yes and no. I would say they are better then other swedish clubs, and probably most scandinavian clubs at keeping them that bit longer before they go abroad. Often 2-3 solid years before they let them go. Nanasi have had about 2,5 - 3 years in the top division in sweden now. The exception is Hugo Larsson, if that is who you are thinking about in this matter. Yes he did go after only 6 months properly in the first team - but at the same time he went straight into Frankfurts first team and have stayed ever since. Malmö is also top when it comes to bringing their own players through (like Hugo Larsson) so they are often very well educated and prepared.

I see IFK have just made an enormous profit on Malik Yakouye, who only made his debut in April, to Brighton. (I hope they spend the money wisely, because it would be good for Swedish football to have a stronger IFK again.)
