FIFA and the European league’s legal action 13:15 - Jul 23 with 983 viewsSE1blue

It’s sad to see football going down this path. Both sides are as greedy as each other.

Agree with the person on BBC sport who suggests that players shouldn’t have to play every game and if their over-inflated prices and wages were reduced , clubs could afford more players to rotate.

But of course, this action will all be money focused and not club or player-centred.

The biggest clubs having more players would be a bad thing for us, as they would end up stockpiling 30 players of a good quality and the remaining clubs would be forced to fight over scraps. It would only increase the disparity between biggest and smallest.

The proposed Club World Cup is also absolutely unnecessary.

I would introduce a real club world and run it over a 2 year cycle. Based on the FA Cup all professional teams in all leagues would be able to enter. Regional qualifying rounds early on and then the 'top' leagues in each country come in later in a similar way to them joining the FA Cup in the 3rd Round.

Imagine Fleetwood or someone similar getting through the qualifying rounds and Botafago ending up with a tricky away fixture.

The TV money could pay for the transport costs in the early rounds.

I like the sound of a Botafago forum with jibes about the posters who couldn't handle a wet Tuesday fixture in November at Fleetwood.
