Weighing the squad 06:11 - Aug 3 with 1617 views | PioneerBlue | Weighing up where we are currently by looking at those squad reductions and additions and assessing net balance Squad reductions - 8 Vas (gk) Aluko Ball Jackson Williams (ignored tiny contribution but a good goal!) Travis Hutchinson Sarmiento Moore Squad additions + 6 Muric Johnson Townsend Greaves Hutchinson Delap Assessment We’ve improved the starting and finishing squad, and we’ve done a lot of tidying up, not mentioned is the other extended squad leavers, Hayes (gk), Ndaba, Camera, El Miz, Ahadme. + Muric + Johnson + Townsend + Greaves ~ Hutchinson + Delap We’ve upgraded all over the place. We still have a few gaps most obviously these positions are commented on everywhere, imo CMf x 2, L10, Striker. We’ve done good work and there are 4 weeks of window left to go. Weighing the squad on 07:01 - Aug 3 with 1484 views | MK1 | I see us getting 2 CM, an AM and a CF. Add a few squad fillers in and we are done. The business done so far is very good and I trust the board and backroom staff to bring in who they think best suits us at this present time. Going to be a very tough season and patience will be needed, but survival is our aim and I think we can achieve that. Realism and calmness is required throughout.

Weighing the squad on 07:15 - Aug 3 with 1438 views | BlueBoots | Did something similar about 10 days ago on another thread, looking at the squad we ended the last transfer window with, and what we currently have following ins /outs; everyone is included, regardless of whether they are likely to be involved this season. (Players with * after their name didn't don't count towards the 25) Hladky > Muric Walton > Walton Slicker* > Slicker Davis > Davis Williams > Townsend Clarke > Clarke JD > Johnson Tuanzebe > Tuanzebe Woolfenden > Woolfenden Edmundson > Edmundson Ndaba > Greaves Burgess > Burgess Baggott* > Baggott Ball > ? Travis > ? Camara > ? El Miz > Humphreys* Morsy > Morsy Luongo > Luongo Taylor > Taylor Burns > Burns Jackson > Delap* Broadhead > Broadhead Sarmiento > ? Chaplin > Chaplin Harness > Harness Hutchinson > Hutchinson* Aluko > ? Moore > Ladapo Hirst > Hirst Al-Hamadi* > Al Hamadi Ahadme > ? Looking at that, we need: 1 x GK, if either Walton / Slicker move this summer 1 or 2 CM's (argument that Johnson replaces Ball rather than JD, as he can play there too, but probably signed as a specialist RB) 1 LW 1 x CF (2 x CF if either Ladapo / Al-Hamadi move this summer)

Weighing the squad on 07:32 - Aug 3 with 1382 views | tractorboy1978 | Defensively we've upgraded but don't see how we've upgraded at all in the front 6. Delap is having to do a lot of heavy lifting there! And we've lost Sarmiento who looked more and more influential as the season went on. We know Broadhead is injured. If Hirst is also injured as well then we are well short.

No disagreement from here other than Delap is an upgrade on those he replaces/cover this year l, mainly KJ at this stage - we assume a striker to replace Moore is still a target position which will play out towards end of window once we’ve decided on what next for AAH and Ladapo. I don’t think there is a doubt we are short both in terms of squad positions left to fill and the compounding effect of injury. OP was mainly looking at what we have, there is time and work to be done in the transfer window and most supporters seem aligned on what’s left by way of target positions.

CM is key for me. The engine room of any side. Morsy will be great as usual, but expect a few suspensions. I think we need an experienced PL CM along side to add a bit of knowhow to the squad. Haven't a clue who, but sure KM does. I expect a younger potential to also come in. As for up front, same again really. A Danny Ings type who has seen it all before to help our young AM adapt to the pressures of the PL. I think 4 more potential starters and a few squad fillers will see us ok for now.

Yes. But we've improved the squad. We have a keeper who played less games than our own last season A striker who scored just 1 more goal in 31 games than Moore who only played 18 We've got ladapo/taylor playing instead of sarmiento or broadhead We've only got 2 actual cms to choose from. We had 4. We don't have rw cover now Jacksons gone albeit it could be Harness. As said recently. There is time. We get that. But I wouldn't say we've improved the squad yet. We are no where near. Greaves and Townsend has however sorted our defence out you'd imagine.

At the moment we have 3 midfielders to pick from one of whom couldn’t get in our team in league one and only Ladapo at CF. Loads and loads of work to do.

You just can't help yourself, can you? Ipswich Town Football Club is being run by professional in what they do. If it was possible to get all our transfer business done a week ago, do you not think it would have been done? Football is different to almost any other business out there. Hurdles to jump, rings to fly though. Just because we want something, doesn't mean we can have it. MA & KM are very, very good at what they do, so let's just let them do their job. I get it's a football forum and we all have a right to view our thoughts and concerns, but the negativity of some really smacks of entitlement. We are in the PL and those who can, will get things done. Just enjoy it. We have had decades of dross and relegations, just embrace the coming season and enjoy it for what it is.

What are you on about. My post is very specific it was solely in response to the statement that We've improved the squad. We haven't. Come in of window we most likely will have done. Think We've all agreed that haven't we. Stop getting precious because we don't all follow the club with blue tinted glasses on and are happy to discuss things for how they are right now rather than just sitting back and trying to come across as some sort of super fan by saying the most positive things ever. Anyways. Now leaving for holiday. See you'll next week Coyb

What? Johnson has improved our squad. Greaves has improved our squad. Delap has improved our squad. Muric has improved our squad. Townsend has improved our squad. You are only looking where you want to look. I will post my grievances if/when I see them, but at this point in time, I only see positives. I am surprised (or not in some cases) that others haven't. The fact that some seem to think that we can just pick and chose whoever we want is staggering to me. I trust those who are in charge of our football club to do what is right for our football club. I suggest others do the same.

It’s their job yes. And ours as fans to pontificate on what we see. Let us do our jobs.
