Would be funny to see Szmodics sitting in the crowd.. on 21:56 - Aug 8 by Nthsuffolkblue
Harsh on Szmodics but the club is bigger than one player.
I just don't get why he signed a new contract there without insisting on a release clause. He could have run it down and left for free otherwise.
What were the circumstances when he signed that contract? I know Blackburn were a lot higher in the table at one point and looking good. They'd played Nodge off the park at Carrow Road for example.

They had won 5 of their previous 7 league matches but that still didn't put them as the form team in the division. If he was banking on them getting promoted and didn't see the need to put a clause in the contract, you have to question his (and his agent's) awareness.

Or he gets picked for the starting 11 and comes running out in full Ipswich kit
I think the best for Ipswich would be if he was picked and told the manager he wasn't available. However, I am reluctant for us to sign a player who would do that because the time would come when he likely might do that to us too.
The likelihood (according to Sky) is that he will be named on the bench (and not asked to play at all is my guess). That would suggest there is a likelihood of a sale but Blackburn are holding out for every penny and will wait until the very end of the transfer window to complete. Unless they have another target to replace him that they are struggling to be confident of getting over the line themselves.
