A tournament we could easily have gone far in.

Fair play to the League Two side, deserved it.

Focus on the league, etc…. Zzzzzzzzz.

RIP Sir Bobby

We really didn't need this Cup distraction to highlight our inevitable lack of preparation (defending, taking pens) and the need to put minutes into unready legs.

Roll on to Saturday and forget all about this. A lot of new players to bed in during the Int. Break.

"A tournament we could easily have gone far in"

We've routinely failed to beat teams like Colchester, Newport, Barrow, Arsenals children, Maidstone, etc no matter who is in charge.

Tonight was never going to be different

McKenna needed to give these players minutes and some game time together. That was more important in the end than winning the game. That's the brutal truth of it.

The brutal truth is that this cup is a pointless distraction for everyone except the big 4/6 clubs who have comically large, deep and insanely talented squads.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Kind of asks the question why are we even entered into it. Couldn't we simply pull out before it's even underway or inform whoever we don't want or need no part of it.

We've never won it, even appeared in a Final, kind of wish sometimes we could go all the way and include it with the top league, F.A and UEFA Cup we once already achieved but it's just evaded us all the years since inception in 1961 or whenever back.

Some fans are getting older, we don't have youth or our side like some other generation of Town fans, so it's acceptable to imagine just how much longer you're going to have the chance to see this club name win this one trophy. It's just time and again - in recent years at least - we fail against lower league opponents in these things. If we can't get past them then maybe what chance we got of actually going on to win the damn thing/s.
