Genuinely feel sorry for West Ham…. 18:11 - Oct 5 with 1887 views | Matt_Netherlands | That’s got to be the worst stadium I’ve ever watched football in. Home fans were non existent and didn’t even stand up when the players came out near where we were sat (undercover in the home end). All the seats are absolutely miles from the pitch and the Stadium was little more than half full with five minutes to go. Away fans sounded great in the first half and a fair few around us were eating Delap quite highly in the first half. A proper soul less bowl that place. Made the atmosphere at the Etihad look half decent…..
Genuinely feel sorry for West Ham…. on 18:56 - Oct 5 with 1696 views | Re_User | The getting in was bad. The getting out was torturous. I actually sat and judged a bunch of people leaving after the fourth goal. At 1745 I was still at the ground and wishing I’d joined them! I first went to the ground when it opened in 2016 and thought it was bad, but put it down to teething issues. 8 years later and it’s worse. It’s not a ground that invites atmosphere, either by design or standard of fans. It just felt like an England friendly.
Genuinely feel sorry for West Ham…. on 19:14 - Oct 5 with 1628 views | bluelagos | Chatted to a couple of West Ham fans I know after the game and they said the atmosphere today was awful. The theme was that after watching us vs Villa, with 3 home losses on the bounce, and a new manager they are not convinced by - that their fans were genuinely nervous / tense upto the 4th goal. They were complimentary about us - although I didn't think we were particularly loud. First time to the new stadium - and convinced it is a very poor sterile experience - although presume London derbies are a bit more edgy.

How did you manage that? We left at the final whistle and 5.45 I getting into my car at Epping station. DLR from BBC Pudding Mill Lane to Stratford and then on to central line. Away exit went almost straight to Pudding Mill Lane DLR which is one stop to Stratford - far far easier than getting away from Brighton.

A ground with so much history, a proper football ground. West Ham were once famous for that hostile atmosphere, no it’s like watching a friendly at London Stadium.

Well clearly I wasn’t as well informed or thought as laterally as you! I ended up stuck in the main group of fans trying to cross back into Westfield. Genuinely a horrendous experience. Won’t be doing there again.

I assume your comment means one of two things…. You think today is an improvement in league one stadiums? Absolutely not. Give me Oakwell or Adams Park any day over the London Stadium. You’re suggesting I was with the home fans because I haven’t been to enough games when we were in league one? Can’t argue with the points system, but I’m stuck on 14. Went to half a dozen or so away games each season in league one, which I’d like to think is a respectable amount.
