Broady 14:05 - Nov 20 with 3569 views | LA_Tractor_Boy | Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but McKenna saying Broady is going to be important over the next couple of months at the fans forum, suggests to me he'll be off in January. McKenna's very careful with his choice of words and IMO would have said something like 'over the course of the season' if we expected him to stay. Not exactly a shock, but a shame as Broady has been such a big part of our journey. Scored pivotal goals against Sheff Weds and Port Vale amongst others.
Broady on 14:09 - Nov 20 with 3477 views | hype313 | We have a squad limit of 25 (27 With Delap and Hutch) so if we're interested in recruiting then we're going to have to shift a few, Broadhead hasn't been near a matchday squad, he has 2 player's in front of him, so it's not illogical to think he'll be off. Also, can't see McK answering that sort of question at a fans forum by saying "Yeah, he's surplus and will be off"

Yeah, obviously McKenna's not going to say at a fans forum that Broady's leaving in January, but I thought his choice of words were telling.

Broadhead's been on the bench for 3 of the past 4 games.
Broady on 14:24 - Nov 20 with 3296 views | TractorClarke | As much as i like Broady and the memories he has provided so far, it has to be said he isnt the most consistent. He has moments of brilliance that much is clear but those moments dont happen all that often and he has a lot of games where he goes missing, thats not to say he isnt a good player, i think he is and has offered a lot but he has fallen down the pecking order, some of that is injury related too. If we can get a decent sum and that helps with getting another good player in then i am not against it at all. Equally if he does stay and starts playing i will be right behind him like the rest of the team. The margins are so tight now we are in the prem that we cant afford too much sentiment for players, it can be a shame but sometimes these changes can be needed.

And if Hirst is now out as suggested, we need bodies, even if not like for like.

Broady on 14:28 - Nov 20 with 3229 views | Nutkins_Return | I would take it much more like when he said the same about Burgess and it was because Greaves was out. I suspect Hirst is out and could be one or more others on top of Ogbene. That's natural at this time of year. Broady would have an impact off bench ilat this level. Or could. Good player. Whether or not he has the running power/levels from the start is more the question mark.

We sure do. Given we start with 4 'forward' players if you include the #9, 10 and wider attacking roles, we probably want 7 (+Johnson) in a matchday squad to cover those positions. With Hirst and Ogbene out we're only left with 8 to choose from, including AAH. With a lack of #9's the question for me is does AAH get elevated to cover that, which probably isn't good news for Broady's prospects, or is it more likely to be Szmodics / Broady seen as the better bets to deputise. Not sure NB is the sort of profile we would want up there myself, but equally I'm not sure AAH is of the level either. To me it looks like an either / or between Broady and AAH for that bench spot. Something like these feels most likely: Delap Szmodics - Hutchinson - Burns / Johnson Bench options: Burns / Johnson, Clarke, Chaplin, AAH or Broadhead.
Broady on 14:44 - Nov 20 with 3070 views | LankHenners | May have been a Freudian slip but think he'd also made reference to the increase in number of games coming up in quick succession so could just have been talking about a busy period where we're likely to see a bit more rotation than we have done so far. Think his days here are probably numbered in any case - lovely player on his day but we need ones who can produce with more consistency as well as stand up to the physicality of the league which I don't think he can unfortunately.

As a Nathan Broadhead superfan I love nothing more than seeing his curly little locks in the squad. Hell of a football to be fair, I really think he's grossly underrated at times. I hope and do think his time might yet come for us this season, but you would think his best opportunity to make his point will have to be over these next few weeks with Hirst out. Otherwise Hirst comes back and January looms, and it could be goodnight Vienna.
Broady on 14:51 - Nov 20 with 2982 views | gringoblue | Is it also possible we have to pay more money to Everton if he makes an appearance for us in the Premier League? I really like Broady. Before Omari fully emerged from February onwards, he had been our talisman for 12 months. I'd love to see him get another chance and take it.

I'm also a Broady fan, the pockets of space he can find along with his eye for a ball has been exquisite, think his issues have been more physical and timings of Injuries haven't helped in that regard. How his future lies is anyone's guess, but he does have traffic in front of him and my concern for him is that we need to lose a few players in order to bring in some, and given he hasn't played any minutes yet, you do fear for him.

Things can change so fast. I wouldn't see him leaving perm. If we don't stay up then he quite probably becomes a core part of our promotion success next season! Then has a fully fit pre-season and we end up in Europe. The only other scenario I can see is we stay up and get into Europe a season ahead of the above and he might leave in that scenario. Such a strange one. Technically he is Prem. If Broady had electric pace he would be class. Not slow though is he. Maybe just lacks a real engine. Hope he gets a chance but can understand why he hasn't had one completely and not sure who he would come in for right now.
