Where have all the clouds gone? 20:20 - Dec 5 with 630 views | NthQldITFC | https://edition.cnn.com/2024/12/05/climate/global-warming-clouds/index.html More on the rapid jump in Sea Surface Temperatures which started around March last year - https://climatereanalyzer.org/clim/sst_daily/?dm_id=world2 As suspected the new sulphur reduction regulations have reduced albedo around shipping lanes, and the evidence suggests that there is an unhelpful feedback loop of warming seas effectively thinning the low level cloud above them, thus allowing the seas to warm further. We are letting climate change get away from us, as I think we all know. It's probably far too late to ask the question now, but... ...Why didn't we act?

Where have all the clouds gone? on 22:13 - Dec 5 with 491 views | StokieBlue | Interesting article. Large scale reduction of low level clouds over the ocean is clearly a serious problem. Climate change is creating more clouds over the UK but it's clearly nothing like an offset and only annoying to me on a selfish personal level. The reality of the situation is that all the rapid changes are extremely worrying and it's probably too much to solve as a whole. We will probably have to pick certain elements and focus on those but even that will likely prove problematic. SB

"We will probably have to pick certain elements and focus on those but even that will likely prove problematic." Like asteroid mining?

Funny you should mention that: https://www.independent.co.uk/tech/robot-cat-china-asteroid-mining-b2654519.html However you know what I mean, going to be hard to ween the West off non-renewable energy and then when that is done it's going to be even harder to point at developing nations and say you have to use renewables but we aren't going to pay for it. It's also about focus - do we focus on energy generation? Aviation? Food production? Personal transport? Shipping? The list of priorities is long and funding is finite. SB
