Multiple colds this year 13:11 - Dec 4 with 1824 views | ThisIsMyUsername | Has anyone else been suffering from multiple colds this year? I've come down with the third in the last eight weeks approximately, each time feeling pretty rough for four or five days. I flew back from Europe on Sunday morning so potentially I caught something on the plane. I usually get one cold each winter but this year has been something else. I'm 32, fit and healthy, with a good diet, exercise and sleep levels. It just seems that whatever is out there is battering my immune system over the last couple of months. Multiple colds this year on 13:35 - Dec 4 with 1724 views | ElderGrizzly | Yep, 3rd in about 6 months. One was pneumonia though and now have a chest infection. i also have 2 small children, with one at nursery, so she is the likely patient zero. I do travel long haul a lot though and latest trip was 10 days ago. This started 8 days ago 🙄

Yep, for the first 3 years of my kids life I had a permanent cold, with a few Norovirus chasers thrown in for good measure.

Multiple colds this year on 16:21 - Dec 4 with 1470 views | Hugoagogo_Reborn | There could be a few strains going around that you've either not had before, or haven't had for a long while, to which you have now lost immunity. I got at least 7 or 8 colds a year at school, got around 4 or 5 a year when I worked in (a frankly far too hot) office, but now I work outside a fair bit, I get maybe 2 or 3 a year absolute max. Also, airplanes are a Petri dish of germs. I haven't been on a flight since February 2020, when I got something suspiciously like COVID, just before lockdown. I always got sick after long haul flights, previously. Get well soon!

Multiple colds this year on 19:57 - Dec 4 with 1243 views | Swansea_Blue | Yep. But they’ve got shorter and less bothersome as they’ve gone on. I’m fresh out of my third one of the autumn/winter, which as little more than a day of sniffles and then 4-5 days of catarrh (which was bloody annoying actually). Last year was worse for us - some real horrible viruses rather than normal colds. Could have been covid I suppose, but we weren’t testing.

Multiple colds this year on 09:41 - Dec 5 with 1096 views | ThisIsMyUsername | It's 'good' to see I'm not alone! I don't have kids and I'm not around them very often either, so that's most likely not the cause. I think this latest one will be from the plane. It's happened the last few times I've flown. I'm going to Egypt in March and I think I will wear a face mask (which I always thoroughly hated doing) as catching a cold on the plane is getting tiresome. Re vaccines: I had the initial three Covid vaccines when everyone was being vaccinated. Since then I've not had any further Covid and/or flu jabs. I suppose being in my 30s I don't get automatically invited. I have no idea how much people are still being recommended to get vaccines regardless. Is it possible and still worth doing? I know you can buy a flu vaccine at Boots (well, I know you could a few years ago as I did it for some reason).

Multiple colds this year on 09:50 - Dec 5 with 1078 views | Facefacts | Yes, I'm off sick from work at the moment too. Third time this year. I'm 61. I don't get offered free Covid or flu jabs. Was actually too ill to watch the other night, although I do have Amazon Prime. Sick of being sick.

Not me - I've used the magic lights and the bleach, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with me at all. The straightjacket makes typing difficult, but when the flying saucers land and I take my pointy aluminium foil hat off, they've promised me that they'll dig out Bill Gates's nano-chip and and use it to somehow stop the chem-trails by injecting it into some specially trained unicorns, or something. But don't tell anyone.

Gosh, I didn’t realise it was such a problem. Thanks for posting that. As it goes, I’ve had the Covid, flu and pneumonia vaccinations, not that it is any guarantee but as far as I’m concerned, anything to reduce the odds.
Multiple colds this year on 23:27 - Dec 5 with 728 views | Freddies_Ears | Last winter, Nov - Mar, I had 7 nasty cold-type bugs, all slightly different symptoms and never clear for more than 7 days in-between. Pretty sure the penultimate was Covid, as it dragged on 3 weeks and removed my sense of smell and taste (smell still zero, taste around 20% back). It was an utterly miserable 18 weeks. In the end I went to a private GP, in case I had immunity issues due to some underlying condition. I am glad I did that. Clear so far this winter...
