Having bumped into an old friend today he told me he had lost his wife to cancer a few years ago. He said he was o.k. and that he wasn't letting the grass grow under his feet. Amongst other things he had a Town season ticket. It's just that I'd like to bring it home to everyone that there are many out there who's Christmas's will be a bit empty due to having lost loved one's and whilst it is a great time for the kids let's not forget those that are left behind and those that have departed.

Hear hear! My dad always struggled a bit after we lost my mum. It’s naturally a time of year that brings loss into a sharper focus. Excellent post.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Absolutely. It’s a time to spare a thought to those people who we have lost and others who grieve or who are less fortunate than ourselves - as well as to have fun, of course!

I hope the club does a memorial game next year as it did last January.

My mate succumbed to motor neuron disease two weeks ago. Passed away in the hospice surrounded by family. His carer and I would take him out for breakfast as recently as July. Sometimes just for a drive so he could get out of the house. His decline was rapid and cruel. Very smart and witty bloke taken way too soon at 59. Wife and15 year old twins left behind. MND is an incredibly cruel and wicked disease. Thoughts inevitably turn to Marcus Stewart. 💙

One of my old teachers at school succumbed to MND. He was a wonderful pianist and woodworker; music and carpentry were his passions.
