Travel plans tonight… 07:51 - Dec 27 with 3180 viewsitfcjoe

My match day travel plans have had to change. So now need easiest/quickest way to drive and tube/train in.

Thinking head to Stratford (park at Westfield) then overground from there to H&I.

Anyone with better options? Or aware of any flaws in my plan?!

I’d say that’s your best route tbh. Safe parking and a quick, comfortable line into LDN.

I was thinking of driving/park at Cockfosters and then down the Piccadilly line… but now thinking this might be a better option?

Do you just use the Westfield multi story??… Never done the whole Stratford thing!

Either that or Newbury Park. Parking is plentiful at both and decent value really. NP would obviously involve another change (central line to Stratford > OG to H&I) but I find the drive a bit better. Having said that I've tended to be doing it in rush hour where the traffic is heavy.

Either way the overground to H&I is easy from Stratford, I used to do it regularly for work. Once there you're a short walk to the stadium and plenty around there to get a drink or something to eat if you're in the market. Getting back on a train after the game might be a bit of a squash but the service is generally pretty good.

Definitely Cockfosters , straight to Arsenal 7 stops away , back up after game , M25 2 mins drive easiest and best IMHO.

Certainly for the London bit that's the best option, might take some time to get on the overground at H&I post-match but less of a concern if you are driving than trying to get a train. You might be better walking to Canonbury post-match

I’d use the Stratford International car park rather than Westfield, it’s cheaper & also I don’t think the Westfield car park is 24 hour?

Evans out

Update on this, the whole family have decided to come with me so we can have Saturday in London so ill be heading to regular hotel in Canning Town, doesn’t change much getting away from the ground bar a further train from what I expected in Stratford

Drive to Potters Bar, then train to Finsbury Park.

Arsenal ST mate said this would be better as Arsenal tube station is chaos after a match.

Royston to Finsbury Park is my strategy.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

It's a very enjoyable novelty being able to do that this evening isn't it?

And then endure the train on Monday.....
