Has anyone had or a had a loved one have a knee replacement? on 21:31 - Mar 16 with 1589 views | LeoMuff | Surgery is brutal if total knee replacement and will be swollen for a long time, follow the surgeons advice and physios to letter but I think elevating for the swelling, keeping moving for blood clots and doing the physio exercises as you want to get full leg extension/Rom back. Any doubts you could contact the surgeon’s secretary to clarify things.

Has anyone had or a had a loved one have a knee replacement? on 21:31 - Mar 16 with 1584 views | Ftnfwest | Mother in law had it done, it’s quite a long road to full recovery especially when she was over 70. Main tip is to do all the exercises recommended which are gentle but very regular. She didn’t, and it hasn’t recovered properly as a result

I'm gonna make a call tomorrow. She had the op on Friday afternoon and was released Saturday afternoon. That's all fine but how are mere mortals like us supposed to know what to expect with this sort of thing? We know what to do, we just don't know what to expect it to look like.

If in doubt I would call 111 to put your mind at rest, they will talk through what’s normal and not.

Yes, they are worth looking at. When I had an ankle op, a gel pack with an inflatable cuff helped a lot with the bruising and discomfort, Less so with the swelling which was tedious and needed specialist physio to remove. Knee equivalent of what I used: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D8T5YHZY/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B0

I really could have done with this last weekend. I got bitten by something whilst doing some gardening and my entire lower leg swelled up.

If it was out in the garden, it might have been a Bankster. Look out for side effects. If you start hanging up posters of Jeremy Corbyn call your GP.
