Surgery is brutal if total knee replacement and will be swollen for a long time, follow the surgeons advice and physios to letter but I think elevating for the swelling, keeping moving for blood clots and doing the physio exercises as you want to get full leg extension/Rom back.
Any doubts you could contact the surgeon’s secretary to clarify things. |  |

Mother in law had it done, it’s quite a long road to full recovery especially when she was over 70. Main tip is to do all the exercises recommended which are gentle but very regular. She didn’t, and it hasn’t recovered properly as a result |  | | |

Yes, they are worth looking at.
When I had an ankle op, a gel pack with an inflatable cuff helped a lot with the bruising and discomfort, Less so with the swelling which was tedious and needed specialist physio to remove.
Knee equivalent of what I used:
