i think our previous highest profit on a player is mings at 8m; it took us 6 years to achieve it, so 10m in less than a year isn't to be sniffed at!

i think wickham's initial profit was higher, but ming's sell-on fees took his deal higher, happy to be corrected though

Think that's right. Mings is likely to have ended up as £8m plus a further £1.85m.

Someone in the know probably knows more than me, but surely he only came to us (permanently anyway) because of this clause?

If he has confidence in himself (which he surely has), he knows he'd get a few goals and at £30m, even if he didn't have as good a season as he did, a lot of teams would still have wanted him at that price.
