I think the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians in Gaza earned Israel the title of Rogue state. Actually, I didn't mean earned I meant reinforced.

I thought they were all terrorists in Gaza? Even the foetuses were terrorists in the making. Best to wipe them out before they have a chance to bomb someone!
I’m obviously being unnecessarily flippant, but yes I think this Israeli state is long past the point of where they should have faced far more international condemnation, including the withdrawl of all support military or otherwise, and Netanyahu and co. should be up in front of an international criminal court.
Trouble is, create a vacuum in Israel and we’ve also seen the Islamist vultures circling Israel and waiting for an opportunity to rip it to shreds. Weaken Israel and you’ve a potential genocide of their people on top of the genocide they themselves have perpetuated in Gaza. And we have to remember that ultimately the people are victims in their own countries and are the most important thing to protect.
If there was any easy fix, we wouldn’t be where wea are. We effectively need regime change in multiple states across the region which is highly unlikely (although one down with Syria so it’s possible, not that it’s a guarantee of future peace and prosperity). |  |

The one thing I would disagree on is that Israel is a democracy and there is a strong parliamnet with alternative leaders available. So I don't think there would be the power vacuum you would get post Gadaffi, Asaad or Hussein. Though do be honest I think Israel thinks it is too deep into it to pull out and they will see the endgame out. | | | |

The opposition were critical in the early stages, but have probably been shut up. Once you are in a war, politicians have little choice to go along with it or else face accusations of treachery or not supporting the armed forces etc. | | | |
