Buy him outright I reckon and he’s good for Prem football next season anyway. Plus the added edge of putting Brum in their place right before we play them is a novelty for us.

Not sure hes good enough for Prem when he can't get in what's been a poor Ajax side!

Also not sure where he fits in when we've got Chappers and Szmodics in the 10 role already?

In England he was traditionally a CF but he’s played out wide for Ajax quite a bit in a wide 10 position similar to Broadhead.

Would be a good addition.

Loads of experience and I suspect we see chappers go before the window finishes. I think akpom is a decent player who adds loads of experience. He can play up top and in the 10 so offers more than being a super sub right now

Scored all his goals at Boro as a 10

Just not sure I'm comfortable paying 7m or whatever it is on a 30 year old with only 1 good season under his belt

….a Prem player.

His best times were at Boro playing as a 10, usually coming in off the left.

He’s not up to it as a CF.

I can only assume he’s simply a straight swap for Broadhead.

You don’t think he’ll add experience and value next season too? I can see it being a great addition round the place. Experienced a lot all over Europe, been at big clubs clearly talented - fair enough I just really like him and would be glad to see him here

It’s all Monopoly money now anyway. No point worrying about fees and value because they don’t exist, just have to trust it doesn’t see us do a Leicester or whatever I guess.

….Im not “against” it as a signing, I just think it smacks of a last minute panic to fill a gap.

This window just seems a bit disorganised and “slap dash” when we should really have been in a position of cool, calm power.

I’ll welcome him with my muscular open arms but quietly wish we had a proper CF and CM in the door.

Peace & Love

£7m isn't that much any more, particularly for a well-financed club with a season of Prem earnings and parachute payments to spend.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?
