It's really a pointless stat though. What's the record discounting the prem? We are not going to be playing teams of that quality this year. Our cup record has been awful for over a decade now. It still stings but not exclusive to McK.

Over the same period we’ve won 2 of 9 to teams currently outside the Prem, pop the champagne

One of those wins was Bristol Rovers too - it’s 1 of 6 to teams currently in the Championship

Over the 2 and a half years immediately prior we had one of the top three records of any team in Europe.

Confidence is a massive thing in football and you can see we have quite a few players that look well short of it.

Hopefully a good win at the weekend will inject some much needed positivity into everyone.
