Football on TV 05:11 - Aug 25 with 624 views | Chrisd | Is it just me or is anyone else out there getting a little bored of the shear volume of live games on TV? 2/3 weeks into the new season and already it’s becoming dull and predictable. I come from a generation where the Big Match was a weekly event, I’d really get excited looking forward to a live game on ITV, now with games on all the time - I’m already bored, it’s a rarity that I genuinely look forward to watching a game. It just feels like overkill and for me it’s draining all the interest I have for football, especially with the majority of teams - from all levels - playing a similar style. Surely, less really can be more instead of forcing as many games down our throats as possible? I appreciate money talks in the modern game, but surely this is simply overkill now? On reflection, it’s probably me just getting older and I could simply choose another channel to watch! [Post edited 25 Aug 5:25]

Football on TV on 06:33 - Aug 25 with 480 views | franz_tyson | I just watch Town. Lost interest in football in general and losing interest more and more . Games are getting decided upon sketchy penalty decisions and it's becoming stop/start with players feigning injury., etc. The new fans are more interested in thr legal side of the game like silhouettes and the stats (XG, etc) and the new invented tactics like low blocks ( we never had closing down in the past). We're being fed too much so that they can exploit as much they can ....and it feels like football's been stretched as far as it can. But we can still have the choice to watch as little or as much as we want.

Agree about the new fans interests - all the stats are total cr@p, all that counts is the amount of goals scored. (and cheese).

Football on TV on 07:55 - Aug 25 with 247 views | ArnieM | OP: nope, you're right, there far too much live football on tv, and like you im bored as hell with it now tbh ( im watching games less and less). I font actually think thrres any genuine excitement in the " product" these days. Take the shirts off the players and you'd struggle yo see any difference in style of play / identity between the teams. Everyone seems to play the same way. Tippy happy passing back n forth, mostly back.Nothing like the sport was in the 1970/80's when it was genuinely a contact sport, and the players were proper nen, who'd just get up and carry on if belted (Usually from behind). Touch a player these days and fown they go clutching their head rolling around. Bunch of Jessie's.

Football on TV on 08:15 - Aug 25 with 162 views | Mark | I agree, as with football on TV all the time, nothing is special any more. I sometimes have a match on in the background and just look up if there is a goal, after which there is the usual VAR review to decide whether it stands. That is not what football is supposed to be. I also get annoyed by all the advertising and teams not wearing their proper colours. At the weekend I saw several fans at a Premier League game filming the match through their mobile phones, to get footage for social media no doubt rather than enjoying the moment.

^^^^THIS^^^^ totally agree, and even then only on Town TV** Try explaining the excitement of FA Cup final day to anyone under 40 or the anticipation of the Home Internationals!! and the joy of not having to listen to Chris Knob Sutton, Dan the Dick Goodman and so many other 'experts' who frankly make the coverage worse to to point its unwatchable **although I miss Brenner, give him his due Glen does an ok commentary and Westie must me the best summariser there is
