Of course Mings went on to have a PL career too. But McGoldrick was the one you were happy to pay money to see. I’m pleased he’s still doing it in the twilight of his career. Shame a combination of bad luck with injuries and the penny pinching under Evans meant he was injured for longer than was ideal. That Sheff Wednesday player ( was it Loovens?) trying to kick MCG's ballbag into the top tier of the West Stand didn't do him any favours either, I imagine that injury in particular smarted like an axe wound.
