McKenna was bemoaning it post match, and the thing that stopped us getting the 3 points was us repeatedly fluffing our lines when we had opportunities.
We played pretty well between both boxes, some really neat and varied passing to beat their press, but the number of times we got into good positions only to mess it up was infuriating.
Whether it was overhit passes, holding on to the ball too long, blocked shots, or whatever else, we weren't really clicking. Second half especially we failed to punish them a number of times on the counter.

Exactly this. Everything else was pretty good but how many times did we pass too short or too long when the right ball would have put someone through one on one.

Akpom and Taylor both made a mess of breakaway situations. Neither spotted our player open on the right, both took too long. As someone else said, if we’d had Burns playing the result may have been different, albeit McAteer did well first half. The biggest miss of all today was Nunez. Sort of player who can unlock teams such as Milwall. |  |

Agreed. Some great play and we created good openings but decision making at the end lacked composure.
A lot of blocked shots which is also credit to Millwall for the way they defended.
Overall it's an okay result.
Missing some really key players.

Yep, very frustrating. We worked the ball into some good areas but I thought all of our forward players were guilty of making the wrong decision on quite a number of occasions. To come away with 4 shots on target was poor, especially as 1 or 2 of them barely register as a chance anyway. It was nearly a very good performance. |  | | |

Or Burns might have been kicked to pieces. They were a big team. Aggressive too.
I think it’s a combination of poor final ball, execution, choices and some bodies on the line, last ditch, never say die defending. With a good bit of sh1thousery chucked in.
I thought we were excellent first half. They really didn’t get much of a look in. Ifs and maybes. Poor old Azon. That’s about five times he has failed to score thanks to world class saves.
But we did break through. Good time to do it too. The second half? I hoped we’d push on. If they moved another up top, exploit the space behind. All that stuff. They need to understand why it went as it did and what they do next time.
As for Nunez, yes he might have made the difference. Such a progressive, important player. He makes things happen. Hopefully the break will ready him for the final push. |  | | |

Alex Neil basically admitted he gambled with the half time change and it paid off for him but could have “got a little messy and been a long afternoon”.

Played some great passes first half under pressure, however the passing second half was abysmal especially when we had time.
Our press first half was great. Thought Macateer played well with some of his challengers first half. |  | | |
