His old club certainly shipped some goals in the Champions League!

Below is his performance in the Newcastle highlights.

He certainly wasn’t at fault with any of the FOUR goals, 2 penalties.

One stop in there.

But my word he’s tall!

They did but also the defence wasn’t the strongest. I’m not sure you can judge him on that. They had two former league one players at the back (Christian Burgess - ex Pompy and Ross Sykes - Ex Accrington Stanley) and Alexis MacAllister’s brother who is quite short for a defender. I’m a USG season ticket holder and was at all the champions league games in Anderlecht.

He’s a quality goalkeeper, he didn’t really have to use his feet much because Burgess was comfortable on the ball and playing out from the back but really everything else this guy is brilliant at. I’ve never seen him not claim a cross or corner (and he does it with ease). He’s a great shot stopper and his reflexes are unbelievable for such a tall guy. Usually tall goalkeepers a slow at getting down, he’s not. Wait till you see him in the goal, he’s so tall and wide he makes the goal look like a 7-a-side goal.

Really useful insight there. I'd hoped with his size he'd be dominant on crosses, but I do think back to Holy who wasn't exactly convincing in that department - but then again, I suppose that's the difference between someone we signed from League Two and someone we signed from the Champions League!

He's got an amazing amount of Champions League/Europa League experience for someone with under 200 total appearances. He played in the competition for Sturm Graz the season before as well.

The Newcastle keeper looked good - we should have put a bid in for him ;-)
