| 61% Posession and 15 shots, 87% pass completion... 17:31 - Nov 1 with 884 views | BseaBlue | Away from home in what was a pretty dominant performance is impressive considering the start that Hull have had. In fact, I think the first half was over 70% and we completely overwhelmed them. We didnt respond quickly enough to the tactical change when Crooks came on in my opinion but then managed to get back into control when the changes were made. I could go on all day about Palacios. Enjoy him whilst he is here folkes! Also, Ouattara and Enciso have been superb. I mentioned before that I felt Enciso had been unlucky with his stats because some of the chances we have missed. The cross he put in for Maeda towards the end of the game was world class and he should have finished it (likewise the one Emersonn hit the post with the other week) It also has to be considered that we have picked up a couple of important points without Lukic, who has been one of our best players so far this season. If we can cut out the silly mistakes this squad has a lot of character to go and get results. Maybe that is easier said than done in this league though! | | | | |

Who were actually there (not me - not in the country at the moment. And not seen the game back yet). It’s easy to list culprits and let’s face it, the dismals on here are unsurpassed in knowing how to allocate blame. However for me, winning losing, playing is a collective thing. Another poster mentioned points after the Chelsea match two years ago and what we need. That’s fair but I go further than that. Up to New year 2024, we really were not very good. Twenty minutes in and collapse on our own defence was the general rule. Pinch a goal from Delap and hope for the best was how it was. We were easy to play against and what we did offer was cruelly exposed after the Chelsea game. Even poor teams were better than us. Without a midfield, we were doomed long before Christmas two years ago. Like taking candy off a kid. Not this time. I’ve seen enough live and on tv to know we are competitive with most. We’ve thrown away points and nabbed a few when a draw would have been fair. But we have goals in us from all over the pitch and a lot of the time look the part. Because of those threats and options, it’ll be harder for opponents to work us out after Xmas in the return fixtures. The team is new and binding faster than I thought it would and will improve. Does it have weaknesses? Of course it does. Are they systemic or individual? Bit of both. We are talking humans who don’t want to c0ck it up, but sometimes it happens. Regardless, there’s much to improve on. For me, we are in this. Will we have enough? I think so but I wouldn’t like to bet on it. It’s interesting and what I can say for certain is that this group of players and team is miles better than two years ago. Last season patience, woefully lacking on here at times, was required. The team grew as the season progressed and by the end fully deserved promotion. The same patience is required this year.

That's where I am at in that this time around we have a chance but it's going to be tough, likely down to 14th tonight and a tricky month ahead, a tonne of games in December and we'll have a pretty good idea after that if we are more likely than not to stay up. Yes those stats are great but that's Hull, we had more possession at Man City than they did at Fulham!

Yeah, that is fair. I think my point is that we were incredibly dominant and were probably unlucky not have gone it at least 2, maybe 3 up at half time. Last time round, we were not really in a position to be dominating games regardless of who it was against so I think that shows how far we have come. I really enjoyed watching us in that first half on Saturday. As you say, we have a tough run coming up but another two wins before Christmas leaves us in a great position ahead of the second half of the season.

You say 'likely down to 14th tonight' - I think Newcastle will give Everton more of a game than they did in the cup, especially as they will be at home tonight. However, on how many occasions 2 years ago were we in a position to be potentially dropping to 14th, or to have even have said, as was the case on Saturday, if we'd managed to get the win we deserved, we'd have been up to 7th after 9 games played?
