Waghorn 22:06 - Jul 21 with 1093 views | MrTown | Aside from the transfer news, Hurst seems to be playing him in the 10 role, obviously meaning we need a new striker, surely we can't rely on Sears and Garner as our no.9 for the year, IF Waghorn stays Hurst has to play him as the no.9, surely......?

Waghorn on 22:23 - Jul 21 with 1003 views | BlueyandCrazy | Was in no9 position for most of the second half today, having been effectively no10 in the first half. Think Hurst is not sure where to play him, and thinking he may prefer the cash....

Worried about a replacement for him, we aren’t lining up a like for like replacement which is the biggest concern.

But if as the previous poster points out Hurst wants someone who plays a specific way (ie. right up top for instance) we wouldn't be lining up a like for like replacement. It seems to be about the system and getting players to fit that for Hurst. Guess we will find out over the next few weeks. SB

Exactly. If Hurst really isn't sure where he fits in his system then he's hardly going to be looking for an identical replacement if we sell. Waghorn can play effectively as a 9 or a 10 and I imagine that if he stays the position he plays will depend on further signings and the fitness of others.
