Salvation for only £1.20

Sir, - Last weekend the curser on my computer wouldn't budge from the centre of the screen. I feared the worldwide worst, especially as my supplier suggested solutions that failed to get it going again.
Then a friend said the trouble was probably exhaustion of batteries in my mouse after a year since the whole system was newly installed. Salvation cost me just £1.20.
My only regret is that the batteries were made in Poland, the mouse in China.
