if so, are there many candidates that stand out, apart from Flynn and the Wolf?
I don't follow the other clubs enough to know who they have playing for them

They just do an EFL Young Player of the Year to cover all 3 divisions

And then do an Apprentice of the year per division, which is based on the pitch and also their behaviour etc around club and work in the community.

The Apprentice normally goes to someone a fair bet younger, like that 16 year old kid at Rochdale.

Also, whilst Downes and Woolf must be two of the better players, there are plenty of youngsters doing well in this league so wouldn't be a foregone conclusion.

Will be nice to (hopefully) see some ITFC players in the Team of the season, other than Murphy we haven't had that for years

...is one of many, many decent young players knocking around our league.

But the overall award will just go to the youngest regular at the team who finishes top of the Championship, whether he's the best player or not.
